Insignia Pins

The Officially Licensed Battlestar Galactica Insignia pins, worn by the enlisted service crew and officers, are made of die struck brass and plated with either nickel or 24K gold plating. These pins are produced by the same Canadian manufacturer used by the BSG Production Staff, identical to the pieces used on the series.

WAVE 1 Orders will be CLOSED on 09/10.

WAVE 2 Pre-Orders will be accpted on 08/10 and then CLOSED on 09/10. Pre-Orders will be processed and items will be shipped out 6-8 weeks after the final orders have been received.

WAVE 3 Pre-Orders to open in late September 2010.

The BSG Insignia Pins are manufactured by the same Canadian company used by the BSG Production Staff during filming through the 2003-2009 seasons. The pins are packaged in a faux black leather, cut-corner, pendant box with the a gold BSG emblem embossed in the background.

The pins will be produced using the same tooling, cutting and stamping as the original pieces produced for the series.

THE PROCESS

Manufacturing:

Produced in Canada.
Using the same shop, original tooling and artwork as used in the BSG series.
Die struck of solid Brass (not a casting).
The center of the Chest Badge is a "Lost Wax Investment Casting". The same process used to cast high end jewelry.

The Finishing:

Every piece is individually hand polished.
Silver surfaces are nickle plated.
Gold surfaces are 24K gold plated.
Color fill is hand-placed color used to fill recessed areas stamped in the the surface of each pin (NOT a thin layer of paint).

The Fasteners:

Threaded posts & nuts.
Straight posts & clutch backs.

Insignia Pendant Box

Included with ever set of pins, the BSG Pendant Box is constructed of black faux leather with a cut corner style and a gold BSG seal in the background.

The dimensions of the Insignia Pendant Box is:
2-3/8" x 2-7/8" x 1-1/4.
